upgrading ubuntu from feisty(7.04) to gutsy(7.10)

when upgrading you may get the errors below:

Could not download all repository indexes

and such as:

http://cn.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/feisty/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz: 500 Internal Server Error
http://cn.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/feisty/restricted/binary-i386/Packages.gz: 500 Internal Server Error

Don’t modify you apt-get source list at pleasure.

My solution:

first: open terminal and typed nslookup archive.ubuntu.com , and something will returned like this:

Server: 202.106.195.68
Address: 202.106.195.68 53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: archive.ubuntu.com
Address: 91.189.88.31
Name: archive.ubuntu.com
Address: 91.189.88.46
Name: archive.ubuntu.com
Address: 91.189.88.45

second: open other terminal and typed sudo gedit /etc/hosts, fill your password and in gedit window add new line at top :

91.189.88.31 cn.archive.ubuntu.com

third: typed sudo apt-get update in terminal.

final: see http://www.ubuntu.org.cn/getubuntu/upgrading.
